Cookie policy
Last updated 10 Sep 2026.
Draft. This wording was written by the build team from how the platform actually works, and has not yet been reviewed by THBC's solicitor. It is here so nothing links to a missing page; treat it as a working document.
A cookie is a small file a website leaves in your browser so it can recognise you on
the next page. We use as few as we can get away with.
What we set
| Cookie | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
PHUB_… | Keeps you signed in as you move around the Hub. Without it, every page would ask you to sign in again. | Until you close your browser |
remember_me | Only set if you tick "Remember me" when you sign in, so you do not have to sign in each visit. | 30 days, or until you sign out |
Both are strictly necessary: one makes the site work at all, and the other exists
only because you asked for it. Under UK cookie rules neither needs your consent, which
is why you are not met with a banner. We are still required to tell you about them,
which is what this page is for.
The cookie that keeps you signed in cannot be read by JavaScript and is only sent over
an encrypted connection.
What we do not set
No advertising cookies. No tracking cookies. No third-party cookies of any kind — we do
not load Google Analytics, advertising pixels, social media buttons or embedded
trackers. Nobody is following you from the Hub to anywhere else.
We also do not sell or share anything about your visit for anyone else's marketing.
Turning them off
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, and you can end the
"remember me" cookie at any time by signing out. Be aware that blocking the sign-in
cookie will stop you being able to use the Hub at all — there is no way around that,
because it is what keeps you signed in from one page to the next.
The apps
The Practice Hub phone apps do not use cookies. They keep a secure token on your device
to stay signed in, which you clear by signing out of the app.
If this changes
If we ever add anything that is not strictly necessary — analytics, for example — we
will ask for your consent first and update this page before it goes live.
[[THBC: this promise has to be kept. Tell whoever builds it.]]
